ROYALTY, costumes, medieval music and even information on how to disable an armoured knight were all on offer in Midleham over the weekend.
The town honoured its strong connections to the last Yorkshire King of England, Richard III, by celebrating all things medieval.
And the famous castle saw 90 schoolchildren from Crakehall, Spennithorne and Middleham made a regal visit to the stone stronghold after a formal procession.
Also taking part was Darlington-born Philippa Langley, the woman who inspired the successful search for Richard III’s remains.
Musicians, dancers and fighting skills were all on display - and visitors were particularly enthralled by the displays of weaponry and the many ways of disabling opponents.
