THE Richmond Youth Theatre are going on tour after a successful opening night for their new play.

The group previewed their production, ‘We are Such Stuff as Memories are Made on’ at Richmond Town Hall on Saturday and it proved a hit with audiences.

Taken from a line in Shakespeare’s The Tempest, the show’s title points towards the plot, based upon a literature lover’s battle with dementia and his families struggles to support him.

The project is in association with The Friends of Garget Walker House, a charity that supports those affected by Alzheimer’s.

Through practical drama workshops, research and training provided by the Alzheimer’s Society, Richmond Youth Theatre members have created the play.

There will now be another five performances as follows; May 13 at Aldbrough St John, May 19 at Colburn Village Hall, May 20 at Booth memorial Hall, Catterick Village, June 10, The National School, Hawes and June 24 at Thornbrough Hall, Leyburn.

Tickets are available on 07875-567984 or 07709-870861 and are £5 for adults and £3 for under eighteen’s
