A CREAMERY will be offering visitors tired of chocolate this Easter the chance to try one of its cheese tasting workshops.

The Wensleydale Creamery, based at Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales is providing a range of activities for visitors over Easter.

The visitor centre has a new viewing gallery, where visitors can watch master cheese-makers at work and see behind-the-scenes footage of the process with the help of new touch screen information points.

There will also be new cheese tasting workshops where visitors will be guided through the aromas, tastes and flavours of a range of cheeses by experts.

There will be cheese-making demonstrations, where visitors can watch eight pints of Wensleydale milk being converted into a 500g Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese in 40 minutes and cookery demonstrations with The Creamery’s head chef.

David Hartley, managing director of The Wensleydale Creamery, said: “Our new cheese tasting workshops are an exciting addition to the visitor centre, allowing visitors to discover our wide range of cheeses, with an insight into how different varieties are handcrafted and why they develop their own unique flavours and textures.

“We’re really proud of the developments that we have made to our Visitor Centre, from our new food and drink menus, to the ‘new look’ gift and cheese shop and interactive Cheese-making Viewing Gallery.”
