MALE singers are being sought for an innovative three day musical extravaganza at Richmond Castle this spring.

Award-winning artist, composer and choir leader Verity Standen has composed the music for ‘Refrain’ inspired partly by the stories of conscientious objectors who were detained in the castle in WWI and WWII.

The show will be held from April 7 to 9 and will give audiences the opportunity to experience Richmond Castle through a new immersive, choral experience.

After its Richmond date, the show will go on to Merseyside and East Sussex.

Ms Standen said she was looking forward to working with a diverse range of voices. She said: “I expect the piece to sound and feel totally different in each location, as it will be shaped by the local singers, the architecture and history of each site, and each audience who will explore it in a different way.”

Male singers wanting to get involved can attend taster sessions at 6pm in Richmond on 6 and 7 March To register and ask any questions email davidmpisaro@hotmail.com
