STAFF and volunteers at Kiplin Hall, the Jacobean house between Richmond and Northallerton, are hosting two open-mornings for anyone interested in joining their team

The open-houses take place over the weekend of February 11 and will provide visitors the opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills.

A 145-strong team of volunteers help to run Kiplin Hall to keep alive the fascinating history of the estate for the benefit of local people and visitors to the area.

Volunteers work in various capacities, including gardening, greeting people and selling tickets at the till, assisting in the Tea Room and acting as room stewards and guides. Experience is not necessary, as training will be given.

Caroline Harvey has volunteered at Kiplin for over ten years and believes there are many benefits to being involved.

She said: “There’s a wealth of history and I enjoy learning new things, including the history of other houses connected to Kiplin.”

To find out more, drop in to one of the volunteer open mornings between 10am and 1pm on February 11 or 12. The gardens and tea room will be open to the public. If you cannot make the open events, but would like to find out more, contact 01748-818178
