THE weather may be cold – but even in late January there are still signs that life is returning and things will soon be warmer.

Much-loved harbingers of spring are beginning to appear in the grounds of Kiplin Hall, near Richmond.

The gardens and tea rooms at the stately home will be re-opening on February 4 and aconites and snowdrops are starting to show.

They are in full flower during February and a snowdrop trail is signposted through the lakeside gardens and woodland walks.

The gardens, grounds and tea room at Kiplin Hall will be open to the public on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until November 1 from 10am to 4pm in February and March and to 5pm later. The hall itself reopens on April 1.
