A VILLAGE playground has been transformed thanks to a £31,000 donation from environmental group Yorventure.
The parish council at Hunton, near Richmond, say the playground has been a huge boost for the village, and they’re inviting people to come and use it.
The playground was in such bad condition a group of parents approached the council last year to appeal for improvements. With the financial backing of Yorventure, the community rallied round, digging out a new play area, and fundraising themselves..
Local residents Patrick Barber and Robert Wyatt organised the project. Mr Barber said: “We must say a huge thank you to everyone who pitched in and made this such a success. Yorventure have been superb. Locally based company Streetscape put the equipment in for us and they were excellent throughout.”
