PEOPLE living in a mental health supported scheme are cueing up to play pool following the gift of a new table.

Residents in the Broadacres-run Leyburn Lodge scheme are delighted with the donation of the new pool table from the association’s building materials supplier, Jewsons.

The table has been placed in an unused garage at the six-home scheme, which is for people with severe and enduring mental health issues.

Sarah Beniams, Broadacres’ scheme manager for mental health, said: “The pool table has been very well received by the residents who have already started planning a tournament for later in the year.

“It’s a great way of promoting resident interaction and we would like to thank Jewsons for their kind donation.”

Leyburn Lodge provides support for people within their own accommodation.

Individual support plans are drawn up for residents of Leyburn Lodge, which highlights areas of help needed and personal goals.

Once residents have reached a point where they can live independently, they are then able to move on to accommodation which suits them.

Housing provider Broadacres has three supported housing schemes, one at Leyburn, one in Northallerton and one in Scarborough. Each scheme contains individual accommodation for six residents.
