ONE of the most picturesque routes in the UK is about to be part of a new TV programme.

The Yorkshire Dales will take a starring role in the new two-hour programme on BBC 4 at 8pm tonight (Monday, August 29) as viewers follow one of Arriva North East's buses in real time.

The programme provides viewers with an opportunity to hop on board from their sofa and see the views, hear the rumbling of the engines and the conversations that happen along the way. Service 830, The Northern Dalesman, runs from Middlesbrough through Richmond and over the Buttertubs Pass to Ingleton.

Nigel Featham, regional manager for Arriva North East and Yorkshire said: “We are extremely proud to operate this route and some of the view you see along the way are breathtaking. We hope viewers will like what they see and ride the route themselves soon.”

Arriva operates The Northern Dalesman service in partnership with DalesBus, which runs buses in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
