THREE golf clubs by the Yorkshire Dales have joined forces to hold the area’s first-ever golf festival.

Bedale, Richmond and Catterick clubs will be hosting the competition on August 22, 23 and 24 respectively.

Each club will offer an individual competition for Gentlemen, Ladies and Juniors and there will be overall prizes for those who compete on all three days.

Catterick Captain Brian de la Haye said: “This is an exciting initiative designed to help draw golfers to the area to offer a unique sporting challenge in some of our most beautiful settings and everyone is welcome.”

Mike Clare of Richmond said: “There is so much to offer to visitors around this area it seemed only sensible to try and use some of our golfing facilities to add to the attraction.”

Duncan Davidson of Bedale added: “This is a great opportunity for three quite different sporting golf clubs to work with one another to promote visiting the area and we are looking forward to welcoming visitors from far and wide as well as our own local golfers.”
