A GEORGIAN estate is hosting a summer movie season with a selection of classic films over five weeks during August and September.

The Coach House at Middleton Lodge, in Middleton Tyas near Richmond, is kicking off the programme on August 4 with Darjeeling Ltd at 9.30pm.

Guests are invited to bring deck chairs and blankets, and food and drinks are available beforehand at the Coach House restaurant.

James Allison, owner of Middleton Lodge, said: “I'm a huge film fan and I've always wanted to hold film screenings on the estate.We’ve carefully selected films to cater for all movie lovers, but all of them are favourites from the Coach House team.

“Each film will be shown on an eight metre screen, with surround sound, as we wanted to make sure that all our guests got the full cinema experience.”

The last film of the season is still to be decided, and film fans can vote for their favourite by visiting the estate’s Facebook page.

Listings include American Werewolf in London on Friday, August 5; Labyrinth on Friday, August 12; Ferris Buellers Day Off on Thursday, August 18; ET on August 19; Pride and Prejudice on August 25; Moulin rouge on August 26; and Sense and Sensibility on September 1.
