A POPULAR motorbike race is set to return next week for the fourth year since it was reinstated after 30 years.

The Bainbridge and District Motor Club brought back the renowned hill climb in 2013 and will take place at Sorrel Sykes Farm in West Burton, Wensleydale, on Wednesday, July 27.

The Bainbridge Motorclub Hillclimb and Motorshow also includes a display of vehicles including motorbikes, tractors and trucks, and there will be stalls and refreshments.

Hundreds of people are expected to flock to the event, which is a family-friendly day out with free entry and parking.

The event was hugely popular in the 1970s but there had been a 30 year gap until new organisers decided to hold it again at Bainbridge sport field, before moving it to West Burton.

The hill climb is open to all classes of motor bikes, including trial bikes, scramble bikes and touring bikes.

New to this year is £100 top prize for the overall winner and free entry for next year's event for all class winners

Gates open at noon, practice is at 5pm and the racing starts at 6pm. Competitor entry is £20 before 27th July, and £25 on the day.

Entry forms to be completed and return to Bob Foster - Swan Farm, Redmire Leyburn, N.Yorks, DL8 4HA, or visit https://www.facebook.com/Bainbridge-District-Motor-Club
