A VILLAGE which boasts a high proportion of artists in its population is hosting an exhibition of their work.
Preston-Under-Scar, a hamlet near Leyburn, has around 100 residents and for the 27th time they are to exhibit the work of 17 artists who live there.
The event takes place over three days and is organised by Barbara Brooks, who has work featured in the display.
She said: “Preston-Under-Scar has such a wealth of artistic talent and although they are mostly amateurs are very good. On show we will have crafts, jewellery, sculptures, cards and paintings in watercolours and many other types of art and craftwork. Also for the first time a photographer.”
The exhibition takes place in the village hall on Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17 doors open from 10am until 6pm. Refreshments will be available and entry is free with any donations for Marie Curie.
