A FOOTBALL team has been given a boost with a new kit thanks to sponsorship from a local housebuilder.
Richmond Mavericks Football Club received £500 for new kits for the up0coming season from Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, which has worked on Colburn's Woodside Chase development.
Lloyd Tate, who plays for Richmond Mavericks and is also an assistant site manager at Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, says: “The new kits are great and we’re really pleased with the support. When I told my colleagues that we were looking for some assistance, they were only too pleased to help.”
Richmond Mavericks Football Club recently merged its two senior teams into one ultimate team, which plays in the Wensleydale League.
Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, adds: “We’re always keen to support local organisations within the communities that we build. Richmond Mavericks is a great club with players from a few of the local villages, including Colburn, so we jumped at the chance to help out.”
