ORGANISERS of the first awards for adult learners are encouraging teachers and pupils to submit nominations to recognise the achievements of their peers in Hambleton and Richmondshire.

Teachers and learners can make nominations for those they believe are deserving of an award by Friday, May.

The Adult Learners Awards 2016 is being organised for the first time by North Yorkshire’s Community Learning Partnership, which brings together North Yorkshire County Council, the Workers’ Educational Association and other organisations to increase the opportunities for community learning and make it accessible to everyone.

The awards will celebrate the best in achievement, effort and innovation among adult learners, and coincide with the national Festival of Learning (formally known as Adult Learners Week), during May and June.

For award information and nomination forms email from Robbie Noble at yhnortheast@wea.org.uk or by post from Robbie Noble, WEA Yorkshire & Humber Regional Office, 10b Joseph’s Well, Hanover Walk, Leeds LS3 1AB.

Nominees and nominators will be invited to an awards ceremony at Northallerton library on Tuesday, June 14.
