A FUNDRAISING ball has netted more than £6,000 for a children’s heart unit in memory of a little girl who lived just 122 days.
Glen and Rebecca Taylor have set themselves a target of raising £122,000 - £1,000 for every day of their daughter Anabelle’s life – and raised the £6,223 for Newcastle’s Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) at a ball held at Middleton Lodge, near Richmond.
Mr Taylor, who is the operational manager of Middleton Lodge estate, said: “Our CHUF ball was a fantastic evening and provided the perfect opportunity for guests to enjoy a night of dinner and dancing, all whilst donating to this very worthy cause.
“We are extremely delighted to have raised £6,223 for CHUF and I want to thank everyone for their generosity.”
Middleton Lodge provided an evening of entertainment, including a champagne reception, three course dinner, as well as an extravagant auction and raffle.
The cash will go to CHUF to help support other families of sick children – and will also help the Taylor family get one step further to reaching their target amount.
