A TRUST which supports conservation in the Yorkshire Dales National Park has received a cash boost of £25,000.
The Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust confirmed a larger payout from the People’s Postcode Lottery of £200,000 in January, and it has now been announced that it is one of 57 charities that will receive the extra £25,000.
Players of People’s Postcode Lottery have awarded an extra £1.425m to long-term supported charities – the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust being one of them.
David Sharrod, YDMT director, said: “The additional £25,000 from players of People’s Postcode Lottery will make a big difference to the landscape, environment and communities of the Yorkshire Dales.
“As well as supporting long running conservation projects such as woodland planting and wildflower meadow restoration, this funding boost will also enable us to invest more in delivering training, education and outreach through a number of new and existing schemes.
“There is always much more work to be done and I’d like to say a huge thank you to all players for their ongoing support, which has totalled an incredible £871,181 over the last seven years.”
The cash will go towards projects including bringing inner-city children for a day out in the Dales, encouraging people to lead a more healthy lifestyle by getting out in the countryside, a woodland restoration project and wildflower meadow scheme.
