Snow is continuing to fall with forecasters predicting some areas could see 10cm by the end of the day.
Snow ploughs have been out across the Yorkshire Dales, which have seen heavy falls on higher ground.

The Buttertubs Pass between Wensleydale and Hawes and Newby Head Pass, from Hawes to Ribblehead are among the routes worst affected.
Snow has also fallen in other areas of the region overnight with a covering reported in the Durham Dales and in some coastal areas.
Durham County Council said its gritters had been out since 4am.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow for large parts of the North-East and North Yorkshire.
Forecasters say between 3cm and 10cm could fall by the end of Thursday.
A Met Office spokesman said: "The heaviest snow is still expected to affect parts of southeast Scotland (for which a separate Amber warning is in force) and upland areas of northern England, including cross-Pennine routes, where 3 to 6cm may fall in a number of areas, with possibly as much as 10 cm locally, mainly above elevations of 200 metres."
