A TEENAGER who has already penned two books inspired by her tiny Shetland pony is set to release her new Christmas book following her awards success.

Hannah Russell, 18, has launched another sequel to the Little Alf adventure series based around a miniature Shetland pony called Alf who stands at just 28 inches high – roughly the size of a large greyhound.

Hannah, from Leyburn, North Yorkshire, published her first children’s book – The Magical Adventure of Little Alf: the Discovery of the Wild Pony - last year, closely followed by The Enchanted Forest.

Both books followed Hannah’s blog - www.littlealf.com - which she set up to share stories and pictures of her mischievous and playful friend.

Last month she was surprised to learn that a fan had entered her books into a competition which saw her pick up two London Book Awards - Youngest Author of the year and Five Star Author Book Review Award 2015.

Her new book, Little Alf the Magic Helper, tells the tale of Hannah and Alf getting ready for Christmas at the stables.

She said: “Everyone is in the Christmas spirit until a mysterious noise occurs in the enchanted forest and something has been eating all the carrots from the stables

“It’s a race against time as Christmas gets nearer and a dangerous creature is on the loose, and Alf and Hannah need to solve the mystery before Christmas Eve.”

Hannah said she was shocked and delighted to have scooped two awards for her books.

“I’m overwhelmed with the success, getting the awards was a complete shock and made this year even better - it's great to know that the general public love the books and has boosted my confidence in future books.

“Next year I’m launching my first teenage book The Travel Girl, as well as the next Little Alf adventure books, and my second book tour will be kicking of around April time which is exciting.”

Hannah has just finished her 2015 tour book signing around the UK, where Little Alf occasionally appeared to delight young fans.

The little Alf books can be purchased from www.littlealf.com, where Little Alf also has his own clothing range for adults and children.

The website also features competitions and a membership club.
