VISITORS to Richmond are being given a high-tech helping hand in planning their trip and finding their way around during their stay.

The Welcome to Richmond app is available for Apple and Android devices and gives users valuable information about the town’s attractions and places of interest.

The free app includes a map, and features images of each of the main visitor venues with key information about them, as well as a range of interesting features visitors will find in the area.

Group chair James Gravenor said: “We’re really pleased to be able to provide our visitors with an app for use on their mobile devices.

“We recently re-designed and re-issued the town’s map leaflet, which has proved very popular with visitors throughout the season.

“The addition of the app, which is clear, clean and uncluttered, really helps potential visitors see what’s available, whilst also guiding those who are already here around - helping everyone get the most out of their visit."

The app has been created by ATS Heritage, one of the leading producers of multimedia guides for the museums and heritage sector, who have provided apps for attractions such as St Paul’s Cathedral and Chatsworth House.

The app can be downloaded from the Google Play store and iTunes.
