A BOUTIQUE hotel which is nearing its first anniversary has won newcomer of the year at the Sawday’s British Hotel Awards.
The Coach House at Middleton Lodge, in Middleton Tyas, near Richmond, is celebrating after winning the prestigious award and will now feature in the 17th edition of Sawday’s Special Places to Stay: British Hotels & Inns, out on October 1, which has more than 300 handpicked places to stay with 40 new additions.
James Allison, owner of the Coach House at Middleton Lodge, said: “To be part of such an amazing line up of newcomer hotels is fantastic.
“What a brilliant celebration of all things Yorkshire, it’s great to see so many hoteliers’ vision and hard work paying off and receiving the outstanding recognition we all deserve.
“At the Coach House, we couldn’t have achieved this without our dedicated team and loyal guests, who we will be celebrating this award with, along with the rest of the region.”
The Coach House is described in the guide as looking straight out of Tuscany or Provence, with “gorgeous stone barns” and “exceptional food.”
