GILLING West pensioner John Young is preparing to tackle the Great North Run to raise money for the organisation which saved his life.
Seventy-year-old John, who lives at Gilling West, is in training for the half-marathon with his wife, Sue.
Seven years ago John survived the onset of prostate cancer - and on Sunday - he'll be running to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK which effectively saved his life.
