A North Yorkshire chocolatier has received a gold star for its Strawberry and Elderflower truffles.
Kacao Chocolaterie, founded by Kelsey Anderson, from Richmond, in late 2014, has been recognised by the Great Taste Awards.
Organised by the Guild of Fine Food, judges were impressed by the truffle, commenting on the sharp taste of the strawberry dust and describing it as "a wonderful looking sweet with a rustic finish".
Handmade in her shop in The Smithy, at Sedbury Hall, Richmond, Ms Anderson infuses her chocolates with contrasting flavours to create individual, artisan, luxury chocolate treats.
She said: “For such a young business, to receive a Gold Star from the Great Taste Awards is incredible and I am really pleased the judges enjoyed the Strawberry and Elderflower Truffles.
“I work hard to develop unique chocolates, with interesting flavours and textures, so to receive this kind of recognition is hugely encouraging as I continue to develop and grow my business. I love being creative with my chocolates and the feedback from the awards has been amazing.”
