FIREFIGHTERS had to assist a female rider after a horse fell on her, injuring her.
The 25-year-old suffered cuts and bruises in the incident in Grunton Lane, Manfield, near Darlington, on Sunday evening.
Firefighters from Darlington and Richmond went to the scene and helped the horse back onto its feet.
The woman was taken to hospital as a precaution, a spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.
