A SOFTWARE company has offered its support to Richmond School to ensure a team of 135 pupils and staff could take part in a local Race for Life event.

Richmond-based OpenCRM sponsored the team at Richmond School, who got their running shoes on for the Race for Life 5k event on Sunday (June 7) in Darlington, with the funding helping to cover the transport costs.

Graham Anderson, chief executive of OpenCRM said: “We were thrilled to support the pupils of Richmond School and their fundraising challenge.

“I know the team have been training hard for this event and it’s fantastic that the school is supporting the pupils in their quest to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

“Race for Life gives the young people the opportunity to raise money for a good cause while also taking an active interest in their health and wellbeing. To have more than 100 pupils sign up to take part in this event is inspiring, we hope they enjoyed the day and raised as much money as possible for charity.”

Helen Southgate, PE teacher at Richmond School, said: “I have been overwhelmed by the level of interest from both staff and students who want to participate in this event as part of the Richmond School team. We are incredibly fortunate to have the support of local organisations such as OpenCRM and are very grateful for their kind donation.”
