A MAN has appeared in court this morning charged with the murder of father-of-two Andrew Jackson in Richmond.
Cohnor James Coleman, 24, from Cookson Way, Brough with St Giles, Catterick Garrison, appeared before magistrates in Northallerton.
Mr Coleman has been charged with murder following the death of Andrew Jackson, 43, who died at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough on Monday (April 27) after being assaulted near the Georgian Theatre in Richmond on Saturday (April 25).
The defendant, dressed in a t-shirt and jogging bottoms and flanked by a police officer in the dock, spoke only to give his address and to confirm that he understood the charge.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday, May 5.
* Sarah Jackson, 38, Mr Jackson's wife of five years, was also arrested in connection with the incident on Victoria Road and remains on police bail.
