UP to 100 artists are being offered the chance to secure gallery space in a seven week exhibition in North Yorkshire.

‘A Spot on the Wall’ is the chance for dozens of artists to secure gallery space in The Station at Richmond. As well as promoting their work in the popular heritage building, artists can also replace their work as it sells.

Gallery manager Thea Treweek said: “This is a great opportunity for artists to reach out to a large number of customers.

“Approximately 50,000 people will visit The Station over the summer holidays, so the potential for sales is very good.

“As a piece of art is sold from the artist’s spot, they can replace it with another. This is obviously good for the artist, but also great for visitors, as the exhibition is ever-changing.”

Art in any medium will be considered for inclusion. The majority of spots available are for works of a maximum of 75cm by 75cm, but there are a limited number of spots on offer for art up to 150cm square.

The money raised from commission on sales will benefit The Station charity. Spots are available for as little as £60.

“Amateurs, emerging artists and seasoned professionals are all welcome,” said Ms Treweek.

“The range of work on show for sale during July and August will provide a vibrant backdrop for our summer visitors to enjoy this gorgeous building even more.”

A Spot on the Wall 2015 runs from Saturday, July 18 to Wednesday, September 2.
