A FRESH appeal has been made to find volunteers to run a tourist information centre (TIC) in Richmond.
The town's TIC moved to the former Rodbers building in Queens Road in 2013 after having to move out of the Friary Gardens office because Richmondshire Leisure Trust could no longer run the centre.
However, this has now closed and Richmondshire county councillor Stuart Parsons is looking for volunteers to launch a new service in the nearby library.
He said tourism related businesses which had come together to form Welcome to Richmond were very keen to see a TIC reestablished.
He added: "This is an absolutely vital service for the town and I would appeal to anyone who may be able to help to get in touch.
"I would be particularly interested in hearing from former volunteers who helped at Rodbers."
Cllr Parsons said he planned to organise a meeting for people interested in volunteering.
