TWO of the country’s leading silver specialists are to give a talk at a leading auction house in North Yorkshire.

The talk at Tennants Auctioneers in Leyburn, North Yorkshire will be an Introduction to Hallmarks and Styles of Silver 1650 to 1900 and will take place on Thursday, November 6 between 2pm and 5pm.

It is the first in a series of specialist talks and lectures planned by Tennants, which will be led by leading experts in the field of art, architecture and antiques.

Thursday’s talk will be held in the newly opened Garden Rooms and will be led by Emma Paragreen, curator and librarian at Sheffield Assay Office, who will talk about the history of hallmarks, and Mark Littler, silver specialist at Tennants, will talk about the development of styles 1660-1900.

There will also be the opportunity of a private view of the forthcoming silver section of the Fine Art Sale, before taking afternoon tea.
