A RESTAURANT in the Yorkshire Dales has impressed inspectors enough to gain a highly coveted place in a top guide.

Yorebridge House, in Bainbridge, North Yorkshire has been awarded three AA rosettes in the AA Hospitality Awards 2014.

Hotel and restaurant inspectors only award three rosettes to restaurants deemed “outstanding” who have achieved standards “that demand recognition well beyond their local area”.

Only about ten per cent of the restaurants within the AA guide have three rosettes or above.

The “restaurant with rooms” is owned by Dave and Charlotte Reilly, who converted the historic Grade II listed buildings in Bainbridge from a former old school building and headmaster’s house.

Mr Reilly said: “I know that only about 10 per cent of restaurants nationwide are of a standard that is worthy of one rosette, so for us to be the only restaurant with rooms in Yorkshire to have gained 3 AA rosettes this year , is way up there in our eyes, and something we have worked hard toward achieving.”

Yorebridge House officially received its accolade at an event at Grosvenor House, in London with television presenter Fiona Bruce.
