A FAMILY has issued a desperate appeal to help find their beloved golden cocker spaniel who has been missing for a month.

Eight-year-old Fern went missing from Low Chantry Farm Boarding Kennels, in Middleton Tyas, North Yorkshire, on Sunday, August 24 after slipping her lead and running off.

Her owners, Kevin Dawson and Sarah Clement-Dawson, have been searching day and night for their much-loved pet and a Facebook page called Help Find Fern has attracted more than 700 likes.

Although there have been sightings of the dog, who is microchipped, near Barton, Middleton Tyas and Newton Morrell, she is still missing.

Mrs Clement-Dawson said: “We are still receiving reports of sightings of her in the days following her disappearance and we are trying to piece together her actions.

“We have searched the area day and night for the last four weeks but have no recent sightings and are not convinced she is still running free in the area.

“She may have been knocked or picked up by someone.

“It has been the longest four weeks of our lives. We are desperate to get her back and are offering a reward for her safe return."

If someone has picked up Fern, Mrs Clement-Dawson urged them to take her to their local vets or contact the family on 07975-594306 or 01325-374373 or email sarah.clement-dawson@live.co.uk
