ORGANISERS of a North Yorkshire music festival are already looking ahead to 2015 after this year's event was hailed a major success.

Richmond Live took place at the weekend, and featured a varied range of music acts and entertainment.

There were familiar local acts alongside some big names, with the event culminating in sets from headline acts Dreadzone and The South on Saturday night.

There was also plenty of other entertainment, including fairground rides, face painting and even pizza cooked in a replica steam locomotive.

Organisers spent a full week getting everything in place for the festival, and despite changeable weather conditions across the two days of the event, marketing manager Jon Naylor said it is going from strength to strength.

"This has been yet another amazing year and a credit to everyone who has worked so hard at this event for the last sixteen years," he said.

“Thanks to a great crowd last year we got a real head start with the 2014 event and here we are with yet another brilliant turn out.

“Richmond Live just gets better and better. I can’t thank everyone involved enough but most of all a massive thanks to everyone who came out to support and enjoy the show.”

The organisers also thanked the volunteers, acts and sponsors who helped make the event a success.

Plans are already in place for Richmond Live 2015 and will be posted on the website www.richmondlive.org in the coming months
