COMMUNITY groups across the North York Moors who need a cash boost are being invited to apply for generous grants.
The National Park Authority is offering grants of up to £5,000 to community groups within the moors who require financial support for their projects in 2018.
Any kind of group can apply, from clubs aimed at young people and wildlife societies, to village hall committees and Parish Councils.
However, applications must be submitted before Wednesday, February 28, so interested parties are being encouraged to act now for the chance to share in the spoils.
Grants in previous years have allowed communities to add equipment to playgrounds, restore a village clock, improve their village halls and even purchase a mobile stage.
Rachel Smith, conservation administrator for the National Park Authority said: “We are keen to hear from groups within the National Park who are looking to invest up to £10,000 in schemes that will have a wider benefit in their local community.
“Our funding priorities include projects that have environmental benefits, improve facilities or focus on cultural heritage or local history.
“If the plans address at least one of these priorities and the work can be completed during 2018, then we would hope to be able to make a contribution towards the capital costs.”
The National Park Authority strives to balance the natural needs of the National Park with the needs of its visitors.
