ATMOSPHERIC pictures, shot on the North York Moors, are marking the launch of official Game of Thrones books, inspired by the heraldry that features in the series.
The official Game of Thrones books contain illustrated pieces that assemble to create 3-D masks or wall mounts representing the sigils, or heraldry, of the houses of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, where the globally-popular drama is set.
Pictured is a direwolf sigil from the House of Stark.
It was modelled near Reasty Hill in Harwood Dale in the North York Moors National Park, not far from Scarborough.
The picture was taken by Press Association photographer Danny Lawson.
Other books enable people to recreate the dragon sigil from the House of Targaryen and the lion heraldry from the House of Lannister.
The publication date for the official Game of Thrones books featuring the 3-D sigils is August 10.
