A NORTH Yorkshire male voice choir is joining forces with a Canadian singing group for a special concert.

The Dalesmen Singers Male Voice Choir, based in Danby on the North York Moors, will be performing a joint concert with St John’s Choir from Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada on Tuesday, June 27.

The Canadian mixed choir formed in 1980 and rehearses every week in the Basilica of St John the Baptist in Newfoundland. It is currently touring the UK with a series of performances led by musical director Stephen Candow.

The Dalesmen Singers sings regularly at venues in and around the moors and has also performed abroad in the past in countries including Canada.
