A BUZZARD has been put down after being caught in a pole trap on the North York Moors.
The banned spring-loaded traps, placed on poles or perches are set up to catch birds of prey which use elevated positions as a vantage point to hunt.
The common buzzard was found at Westerdale in the North York Moors and its injuries were so severe it had to be put down.
If you have seen or heard anything please ring 101 and ask to speak to PC Jez Walmsley.
