FOUND: The body of Peter Johnson was found in woodland.
THE body of a missing 77-year-old man has been found after a major search.
North Yorkshire Police appealed for help to find Peter William Johnson, from the Cropton area of Pickering, North Yorkshire who had not been seen by neighbours for a couple of days.
However, the force announced on Sunday evening that Mr Johnson's body has been found in woodland at 3pm.
A spokesman said: "His family have been informed and are receiving support from officers.
"North Yorkshire Police would like to thank emergency service colleagues and members of the public who responded to our appeal for assistance in locating Mr Johnson."
