A MAN has been taken to hospital and traffic has built up on the A168 after two lorries crashed early this morning.

One lane was blocked on the A168 southbound at Asenby, near Topcliffe, and the air ambulance was called to the scene.

Emergency services and recovery vehicles are working at the scene, and Sgt Paul Cording of North Yorkshire Police said: "We have had a collision involving two HGVs.

"We have got one injured party which has gone to hospital, but there are considerable delays of about five miles if you are travelling south from the Teesside or North-East back down towards the A1."
