THREE army veterans who turned to art to help them adapt to civilian life have found a special exhibition space for their work.
The paintings and photographs are going on display at the Civic Centre in Northallerton, home of Hambleton District council. The three veterans, Mark Gilbert, Ryan Hall and Andy Murphy, have all spent time at The Beacon in Catterick which helps forces personnel adapt to life outside the army.
“The quality of the pieces is outstanding,” said Kate Staines, Hambleton Development Officer. “We were delighted when Riverside Care and Support asked if we could display some of their veterans work. These veterans have experienced things that most of us cannot imagine and it gives them a chance to exhibit to a much wider audience." The exhibition runs until the end of April.
