ANTI-terror police holding two 14-year-old boys over an alleged terror plot have been given longer to quiz them.
The teenagers from Northallerton are being held on “suspicion of preparing for an act of terrorism” under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North East were granted a warrant of further detention until Wednesday.
The boys are being held in West Yorkshire.
They were held as part of an ongoing police led investigation on Saturday.
Since the weekend, searches have taken place at numerous locations in the Northallerton area.
These include searches at three residential properties, which have now concluded.
