DESCENDANTS of the man who documented the jewels found in Tutankhamen's tomb are about to share their knowledge of the world of precious stones.
James R Ogden documented the pharoah's jewellery while working with Lord Carnarvon and Howard Carter on the discovery of the tomb in 1922.
The Ogden family have run a jewellery business in Harrogate since 1873 and the latest generation, Ben and Robert Ogden, will be presenting The Wonder of Precious Gemstones on November 2 at the Cleveland Tontine, near Northallerton.
They will help people discover more about diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds - prices for which are on the increase.
"We will look at their properties, but also what they represent, and of course what makes them so valuable," said Ben.
The evening begins at 6.30pm with a two-course dinner at 7pm, and costs £25 per person.
