POLICE have sought to reassure residents following a sneak-in burglary at a Northallerton village.

The burglary, at Cockpit Hill in Brompton, is believed to have taken place some time between 9pm on Sunday, September 3 and 10.55am the following morning.

A police spokesman said: “We would like to reassure the community that we are working to identify the person or people responsible and would appeal to anyone who was in the area and noticed anything suspicious near to or on Cockpit Hill, Brompton to contact police. Your information will be looked at thoroughly and could really help our enquiries.

“We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have heard anything about the incident in the days since to contact us with any information.”
