A GAME of football but with a difference has kicked off in the county town of North Yorkshire.
"Walking Football’ is just at is sounds - a standard game of football where participants walk instead of run.
Taster sessions have been taking place to gauge interest for the new initiative which is being delivered in Northallerton by Hambleton District Council and Age UK.
“The activity has proved to be a great success so far,” said Councillor Mrs Bridget Fortune, the authority's portfolio holder for leisure.
“It is a great way for people to have fun, make new friends and be active.”
Another taster session will be taking place later this month on August 21 at Hambleton Leisure Centre in Northallerton from 4pm to 5pm and then an eight-week course will get underway in September.
