DANBY Wiske will be alive with the sound of music when its second annual summer festival returns at the end of July.

‘Snow Storm in Summer’, the Danby Wiske Music Festival, is scheduled for the weekend of July 28 and brings with it a host of attractions.

It takes place in and around the White Swan where publican Steve Knight is arranging to serve special brew of his favourite real ale, ‘Snow Storm’ - hence the festival’s name.

Mr Knight is looking forward to the event.

He said: “Last year the festival got off to a great start.

“Building on that success we have extended the programme to run over the whole weekend with more performances and more opportunities for visitors to join in.”

The festivities begin on the evening of July 28 at 7pm with a concert under canvas on the village green.

On Saturday a full programme of 12 performers will keep visitors entertained for much of the afternoon.

Morris dancing and traditional long sword dancing will feature on Sunday along with the live music.
