A NORTHALLERTON resident has decided to mark her 50th birthday by taking part in a sky dive for an airborne charity.
Jenette England will be taking part in the jump on June 24 from the skydiving centre, Peterlee Parachuting at Shotton Airfield in County Durham.
Ms England, who works at the horticulture firm Earley Ornamentals in Thirsk, will be raising money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
She said: “It’s an experience I’ve always wanted to do and thought because it’s my 50th birthday this year now would be a good time.”
She decided to raise money for the air ambulance after a friend was involved in a head-on collision while driving between Malton and Pickering and he was airlifted to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
“I want to raise as much as I can. The more the better for this charity,” she said.
