THE Northallerton Committee of the NSPCC recently organised a fundraising lunch at the Black Bull, Moulton. After a sparkling reception the Committee Chairman, Gillian Morrison, welcomed 100 guests and thanked everyone for so generously supporting the NSPCC.
The speaker was Richard Sands RVM, ARCM, who gave a highly entertaining account of both the history of the Tower of London and his experiences during his service as a Yeoman Warder.
Mr Sands served as a Yeoman Warder at the Tower for 23 years.
Guests were delighted to see Mr Sands in his “undress” uniform of dark blue with red trimmings. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs Val Hardisty.
More than £1,500 was raised at the function which will go towards helping children in the North Yorkshire area.
