ARTISTS brushed up their fundraising skills to hand over £1,200 for a special cancer unit being built at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.
The Tuesday Art Group, in Romanby, held a special exhibition at the end of their season with members putting forward their favourite art works for the public display which attracted dozens of people.
The art group raised £1,200 in total with cash they made through refreshments and group sales match funded by Barclays Bank. The money has been presented to help fund the new Robert Ogden Macmillan Unit at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton. The multi million pound centre is being jointly funded by Macmillan and North Yorkshire philanthropist Sir Robert Ogden.
The aim is to create a specialist centre to support and help patients undergoing cancer treatment,
