A CAR fleeing police reached speeds of up to 100mph on the A19, say officers.
Police arrested four men following the pursuit in the early hours of Tuesday.
"Officers located a suspicious vehicle in Scruton, Northallerton, shortly before 1am and it failed to stop, resulting in a pursuit along the A64 and onto the A19. The vehicle, a beige Volvo V40, reached speed in excess of 100mph during the pursuit," said a spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police.
"With the assistance of Cleveland Police, the vehicle was stopped on the A19 near Crathorne around 20 minutes later, and four men were arrested. The men were arrested on suspicion of Going Equipped to steal and Theft from a vehicle.
"The four men, one aged 30 and three aged 18, have all been released under investigation while enquiries continue."
