A MULTI-million plan to revamp Northallerton’s leisure centre has won planning approval.
Work on the £2.5m overhaul of the Hambleton District Council-run facility will now begin within weeks.
The authority is working with development partner, Alliance Leisure Services Ltd, on the redevelopment scheme – which includes a gym extension, two studios for group exercise and spinning classes; and new and improved changing rooms.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Mark Robson, described it as an “exciting scheme”, adding: “It will mean we can offer an improved programme of activities to help promote the health and well-being of people of all ages and levels of fitness.”
Hambleton District Council is investing £2.3m with the remainder coming from National Lottery funding from Sport England.
