CHARITABLE young farmers ploughed their way through an evening of fun, feasting and fundraising to help two local good causes.

Members of the Northallerton Young Farmers Clubs held their annual black tie and ball gown charity evening at the Allerton Court Hotel to help swell the funds for the continued refurbishment of The Dales School hydrotherapy pool.

Proceeds were also donated to The South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Trinity Holistic Centre, at The Friarage Hospital, which provides valuable complementary therapies to support patients undergoing cancer treatment.

More than 100 guests attended the glittering event for a three course dinner followed by dancing and a raffle.

Chairman of The Northallerton Young Famers Club Phil Swall said: “This evening is about having fun and also helping out two great local charities.”

Assistant headteacher at The Dales School Anne Baker said: “The response to our hydro-pool appeal has been phenomenal and we are incredibly grateful to the Northallerton and Dales Young farmers for their continued support.

“We have now re-opened the pool, which is a vital facility for our students with severe and complex needs, after the local community raised a magnificent £70,000.

“We are now fundraising to enable us to move to stage two of the refurbishment which will see the new pool area equipped with special sound and lighting equipment to help enhance the students’ therapy and learning environment.”
